Nick Lacey
Born 11th September 1987 Occupation: Sign Writer Nick started racing at 9 in Junior motocross on a JR50. Progressed to a KTM60 & then a YZ80. His best result was 3rd in the Victorian Titles and at the age of 12 he was successful in gaining Junior Supercross accreditation. At 13 he moved to GoKarts racing in Junior National & Junior clubman. At 16 moved up to seniors and raced in Formula Australia, Clubman Light & Rotax Light. Many podium finishes including 3 times club champion at the GoKart Club of Victoria. Winner of the Super 8 national series in Clubman Light. 4th in the Kartstars national championships in Rotax light. Nick also took great delight in beating the factory teams on many occasions. At 19 he moved to Formula Ford competing in the Victorian State series where he finished in the top ten in most races and ran 6th overall in the series. After 10 years of non stop racing Nick retired for a short time to go to university and then join the work force. At 21 he started in Sprintcars in the 08/09 season competing in 25 races in Vic & SA with several top ten finishes and qualified for the Grand Annual Classic in his first attempt. Nick handled the change from asphalt to dirt quite well and progressed nicely throughout the season.
